Value Investing Letter

Schwartz Tilson Information wanted to launch an online publication focusing on Value Investing. The goal was to create a free interactive portal with uptotheminute finance and value investing news, featured articles written by contributors, and a library of value investing resources. The featured articles would be posted once a month and sent to subscribers in an e-Newsletter.

Challenge
Schwartz Tilson Information wanted a website that would feature the up to the minute news without the need to hire a large editorial team.

Approach
Product Development: First we worked with Schwartz Tilson Information to define exactly what Value Investing Letter would be, understand their goals and figure out how we could provide breaking news consistently without a large editorial staff. Our solution was a hybrid model featuring both proprietary content and aggregated content from reputable news sources. The proprietary content would be sent to subscribers in an e-Newsletter and housed on the website. To read this content, readers would need to subscribe and login. To compile targeted real-time news and videos we decided to build a proprietary content aggregation engine.

Branding: Imagine 360’s first step in the branding process was to come up with a name that quickly conveyed the publication's focus and then design a logo that was clean, classic, and "timeless."

Website: Once the product was defined, we began designing a dynamic, user-friendly website and building the content aggregation engine. Imagine 360 leveraged an open source content management system and created a website with multiple permission levels and subscriber login. The website was also integrated with Schwartz Tilson Information's email service provider, Exact Target.

e-Newsletter: Once the website was complete, we designed the monthly e-newsletter and the launch email. Both emails were designed to stay true to the Value Investing Letter brand, incorporating design and messaging elements from the site as well as mobile compatibility.

Results
Within one month over 1,500 people subscribed to The Value Investing Letter and it continues to grow every day.
